JUNE 18 - 20

  Wednesday  June 18 th  - We drove   miles to Ashby, MA right on the border of NH where we set up camp at The Pines Campground. Our campsite was beautiful; surrounded by pine trees and on a rocky stream. We went into town to do laundry before settling in to work on the blog and plan for the next day. Thursday  June 19 th  - The day was sunny and very hot and humid. We started with a hike at Monadnock Park in New Hampshire. It was a very difficult trail; steep, rocky and slippery. We were accustomed to long, steep hikes but rocky,slippery trails…not fun. Michael did fine with the terrain but Dana was not happy. We turned back about half-way to the summit. It was entertaining to watch the children and young people on the trail scurrying up like little squirrels! We stopped at the Visitors Center on the way out and enjoyed looking at the exhibits. We were so surprised to see it takes chewing gum 1 million years to biodegrade. Next we went to Miller State...
